Audible’s Narrator Hall of Fame Names Ray Porter, Julia Whelan Among 15 Inductees to 2026 Class
Amazon’s Audible has named 15 new “voice legends” to its Narrator Hall of Fame, recognizing voice talent who have “redefined the listening experience” and engaged audiobook fans worldwide.
The group of 15 honorees have performed hundreds of audiobook titles and, according to Audible, have become as recognizable to fans as the stories they tell.
“Among the honorees is Julia Whelan, who has been called ‘The Adele of Audiobooks.’ The author, actor and narrator’s voice has ‘become synonymous with modern literary fiction and romance,’ according to Audible.”
Dubbed “The Adele of Audiobooks” by The New Yorker, Julia Whelan is an actor, audiobook narrator of over 600 titles and award-winning author of My Oxford Year (now a Netflix movie), Thank You For Listening and Casanova LLC. In 2024, she launched her own audio publishing company and app, Audiobrary.com, which seeks to create a sustainable future for human storytelling. Whelan appeared at the 2025 and 2026 Festivals. Whelan is also “the official voice of the Festival” for all announcements and introductions.
