Karl Rove Gives a National Shoutout to Rancho Mirage Writers Festival
Our semiquincentennial theme was highlighted in Karl Rove’s latest Wall Street Journal column. The column, titled “A Revolutionary Reflection,” urged readers to “turn your heart and mind toward America as we approach its semiquincentennial.” Rove mentioned the RMWF and our two-year theme celebrating the semiquincentennial.
“Community speaker series and book festivals can play a role. In January, California’s Rancho Mirage Writers Festival will host Rick Atkinson, H.W. Brands and Russell Shorto, all of who have written on the era, and Ken Burns, whose television series “The American Revolution” premieres Nov. 16”
Rove is a political strategist who formerly served as a senior advisor to President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2007 and was his Deputy Chief of Staff from 2004 to 2007. Today Rove writes a weekly op-ed for The Wall Street Journal and is a FOX News contributor. Rove appeared at the 2025 Festival and will return in 2026.
