Brant MacDuff

Brant MacDuff is a wildlife conservation and taxidermy historian who studies and writes about conservation strategy and economics. As people are often more in touch with the emotions that wildlife elicit rather than the science needed to help species flourish, his work has become focused on communicating conservation strategy and sustainability practices to the wider public.

The Shotgun Conservationist

His book, The Shotgun Conservationist, is a crash course in wildlife conservation economics and history through the lens of a lifelong animal nut who was once very skeptical of hunting and how he became its biggest cheerleader. Is wild venison the most environmentally friendly food in the world? Do more hunters mean more animals? What’s a Duck Stamp? The book is a frenetic look at the fascinating intersection of hunting and wildlife conservation and all the science, history, and economics that make it the success story nobody knows about.

The first 200 people at this event will receive a FREE copy of The Shotgun Conservationist.
